You know the moment. Someone says yes, you enrol them together, and before the confirmation email lands you are already wondering where to put them. Who do they go under? Which leg? And it had better be right first time, because you only had a short window to move anyone.
Since 1 July that pressure is off. doTERRA has relaxed the placement rules, and this is the heart of it:
- Every new enrolment lands on your frontline automatically.
- As long as that person has no downline of their own, you can request one sponsor change whenever you like. No deadline.
- Once they have a downline of their own, you have until the 10th of the following month.
- Do nothing and they simply stay on your frontline. Think ahead though: your first line does not pay unilevel. If they are still ordering in three months, you want them somewhere that volume counts.
You no longer have to decide on the day itself. You get a few weeks to work out who you have just enrolled: someone who wants to order, or someone who wants to build.
Use that time for the question that really matters. Placing is more than picking a spot on your focus map. Ask yourself who this customer ends up with. Which active leader is going to look after them? Put a customer under a leader and you help two people at once. Your customer gets a team close by, and your leader finds out what it is like to run her own team. The enrolment stays in your name, and from that day the customer belongs to her team. Tell her that, because a leader who understands it is a leader who picks up the phone and keeps in touch.
Think about team flow too. Someone who lives an hour away does not belong in the leg that happens to need volume. They belong where they can join in locally, where there is a kitchen table workshop now and then that they can walk into. A place where something is happening does more for a customer than a place that only adds up on paper.

Set the LRP date right and earn three Fast Starts instead of two
I learned this one from Blue Diamond Lisa Bonin-Zimmer. Once it clicks, you will do it at every enrolment.
Fast Start counts on everything your new member orders in their first 60 days. The LRP date decides how many of those monthly orders still land inside that window.
Do the maths. Someone enrols on 14 May and the LRP stays on the 14th: 14 June falls inside, 14 July just misses it, because that is day 61. Move the LRP to 10 June at the enrolment and both 10 June and 10 July land inside. Three Fast Start payments instead of two, with the same customer and the same orders.
And it is not just the monthly orders. Anything they order inside that window counts. Setting the date takes seconds. What happens after that comes down to how you look after them. Someone who is well supported in those first two months uses their oils, comes back with a question and adds something to an order. That is what fills the window.

Take your most recent enrolment today and check two things. Does their second monthly order still fall inside the 60 days? And is someone really looking after them where they sit? If not, you have time to fix it now.
NEW: Power of 3 flexibility
From August the Power of 3 gets a little more flexible. Up to 200 PV of your pod volume may come from ordinary frontline orders rather than from the LRP, and the 100 PV from personally enrolled members may come from any combination of their orders. doTERRA is clear that it does not replace the usual route. 500 PV of LRP volume is still the steadiest way to qualify every month. Treat it as a safety net for the month when someone places a standard order by mistake. It takes effect around the August commission processing; the details are in the appendix.
All the numbers, ranks and blend cards stay up to date in the online appendix.
