doTERRA Frankincense

What it does

Frankincense comes from the resin of the Boswellia tree, which grows in the driest places of Somalia, Oman and Ethiopia. The resin 'weeps' from small cuts in the bark and hardens over a few days into beads, the tree's tears. For thousands of years frankincense has been burned in temples and rituals, from ancient Egypt to now; it was once literally worth its weight in gold. The aroma is rich, warm and balsamic.

On your skin, Frankincense soothes and helps reduce the look of blemishes, lovely in your skincare. In your diffuser it fills the room with a deep, warm calm.

And then, what frankincense truly earns its royal title for: it draws you inward. Where the world pulls you outward, faster, more, harder, this scent invites you to slow down and be still for a moment. A scent to breathe with, to meditate with, or simply to feel connected to something bigger than the busyness of today.

The tree's tears

The resin drips slowly from the Boswellia and hardens into golden beads. For centuries these were traded as a treasure and burned at births, prayers and farewells. Few scents carry so much history.

View Lavender → Turmeric 🌍 Nepal The rhizomes are harvested by hand by farming families in the hills of Nepal and distilled locally. Co-Impact Sourcing provides steady jobs and fair prices in a region where paid work is scarce. View Turmeric → Frankincense 🌍 Somalia Β· Oman Β· Ethiopia doTERRA's frankincense is a blend of several Boswellia species from Somalia, Oman and Ethiopia. View Frankincense → Wild Orange 🌍 Brazil Sourced from hundreds of small farmers in southern Brazil, where the climate is ideal for citrus. The oil is cold-pressed from the peel; it takes around 154 oranges for one 15 ml bottle. View Wild Orange → Ylang Ylang 🌍 Madagascar Β· Nosy Be From growers on the island of Nosy Be, off Madagascar's north-west coast. The star-shaped flowers are hand-picked and distilled within 24 hours, so the rich, sweet aroma is preserved. View PastTense → Deep Blue Stick 🌍 Nepal Built on the Deep Blue blend. Its main component, wintergreen, is wild-harvested in rural Nepal, where women climb the steep mountain slopes and communities manage their forest areas together. View Deep Blue Stick → Fractionated Coconut Oil 🌍 Philippines The carrier oil comes from the Philippines, from the coconut.
